![]() It narratively justifies the cliche setup and wraps everything up almost beautifully. ![]() The final route wraps up the beginning and why it was the way it was. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here since this is really something I want people to experience for themselves but let's just say the game narrative justifies my repeated playthroughs and gives the name meaning. This time we are met my a mysterious girl named Sakura who decides to tell us a story. We finally devise the meaning of the message and all come back to the cherry blossom tree. The plot at this point revolved around collecting information and was slowly build to. The main character was having strange dreams and the official newspaper club started to write an article over the mysterious happenings. Suddenly we have a mystery and the narrative was picking up. This is where the game started to hook me. Along with that every single person there gets a text dated from the 1900's that simply reads "When the cherry blossoms bloom meet in the promised place". After they all gather under the tree it suddenly bursts into bloom just like some kind of magic along with all the cherry blossoms on the island. Kiyotaka and his scorned womens club (by this point in the story is was more than obvious that every single one of them had a crush on Kiyotaka and every single one of them has made advances that haven't gone anywhere but hey this is only the setup we can't have him choosing yet can we) decide to meet one day under a once famous Cherry Blossom tree that use to be continuously in bloom. ![]() Or so I thought.Īfter a few days of normal day to day activities filled with High School in Japan Anime tropes galore a mystery is presented. It's such an overused set of tropes that even when it is lampshaded we immediately know what the game is going for. While I'm not particularly against this kind of cliche it's still a cliche and got a bit of an eye roll. Oh boy I thought it's just another one of these well at least I got it for free. The game starts out relatively mundane you play as Kiyotaka a Japanese high school student who is on a Newspaper club that (surprise) is filled by a group of attractive women who just happen to all have varying degrees of crushes on him. I was quite confused as to what the name actually meant my first playthrough and I eventually chalked it up to just a meaningless phrase that is sometimes thrown onto Japanese games like Symphonia. I went in knowing nothing about the series or the game itself so forgive me if this stuff is to be expected or is already known I will do my best to mark potential spoilers.ĭa Capo is a musical term literally meaning repeat from the beginning. I'm honestly not sure how many people have actually played this but if you are into Visual Novels after just finishing it I will say I highly recommend checking it out. I actually got it for free from the publisher through a random contest that I had forgot I entered. Even better if I convince people to play it who haven't.ĭa Capo III R is a relatively long Visual Novel available on Steam with one of the highest amounts of translated text of any officially released VN in English.
